Funding Available from March of Dimes Indiana Chapter!
March of Dimes Indiana Chapter announces the availability of 2015 Community Grants. The Indiana Chapter Community Grants Program is designed to invest in priority projects that further the March of Dimes mission, support campaign objectives, and further our strategic goal of promoting equity in birth outcomes.
Priority will be given to projects that meet one or more of the following criteria:
• Are evidence-based;
• Include measurable outcomes;
• Promote equity in birth outcomes.
Projects may focus on consumers and/or health care providers. The March of Dimes does not fund billable health care provider services.
These grants are intended to fill gaps in prenatal care, education, and other services in communities throughout Indiana. Specifically, consider whether your community could benefit from t
1. Enhanced Prenatal Care through Centering/Group Care: group prenatal care that incorporates peer-to-peer support in facilitated, face-to-face sessions for three components: health assessment, education, and support occurring within approximately 10 prenatal session. This approach focuses on building peer-support relationships.
2. Enhanced preconception and interconception health with risk reduction education through care programs designed to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors to prevent health problems for a mother and her future children (i.e. evidence-based risk screening, health promotion, and interventions such as addressing obesity and diabetes, smoking cessation, etc.)
